I can't help myself, even though I haven't got the car anymore! Spent so many years on here I just tap the link out of habit I suppose! It is the best forum around, even though I am no longer part of the gang anymore. Hope things are good with you!

I do miss the car sometimes, but I am happy with the new ones and them not being imports does mean less hassle overall. Getting rid was the best thing for me in the end.

The EOC is not an Elgrand thing really @Tim C , bunch of auld (and not so old) duffers sharing the craic. I love this place, and would still be here long after my E51 was Rusting In Peace in a scrappy somewhere. Some characters on here, I wouldn't leave even if I bought an Alphard :)

Yesterday put rear cats back on for MOT.
Today got her back, yip pass, all good.
It did fail at first with a major defect, yes wait for it

Anit roll bar linkage ball dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt offside front.

So in short the rubber cover had perished, I did look a week or so and it seemed fine then.
But just by luck I had a spare in the rear pocket, so to save hassle, just told them, one in the boot just chuck it on, they agreed, so picked it up new MOT no advisories, great.
The bill to fit a drop link, which was a major defect ( come on should be at best an advisory, surly)
£70 + MOT + vat
£134
I'm feeling really sorry for people that don't do their own and rely on garages to do the work.
I must have saved millions through the years.
But where did it go

Yes, fuel! Oh and all those little and yet critically important "safety features" like alloy wheels and new stereo ;)
 
Finally got around to doing the passenger rear door after the cable snapped, replaced both cables with sheathed stainless wire with nipples soldered on, so now it works as Nissan intended, I thought after taking it all apart to clean all the old sheathing out I had made a mistake taking the motor off and main cog because I thought they would need lining up but no, it worked fine, no setting up required. Unfortunately the refurbed passenger door is now much faster and smoother than the drivers side, another job on the mental list. :)
 
I left the tools in the garage for a day and actually enjoyed my van. Pizza and chill on at the beach

And yes, they are litter pickers hanging off the tailgate. My daughter is obsessed with keeping beaches clean so a trip to the beach usually involves picking up litter as well 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Changed the ATF, off for a spin tomorrow to see if it fixes the gearbox errors :) if it has then new track rod ends, drop the oil and book the MOT (expires on the 4th).
 
I put LED bulbs in some of the interior lights (Old bulbs that had blown). A bit nervous as the plastic made lots of disturbing creaking noises.
I'm not brave enough to tackle the passenger lights or the single ceiling light.
The plastic cover for the rear screen fell off during the winter when the clips broke off. So I'm not eager to see what else is fragile.

Can't match boat trip but did put some graphics on my Elgrand. Got approval from my wife for this. She is not keen on boring stuff like brakes, drop links etc. Good to use credit card (to smooth out the graphics) without running up a bill! IMG_20250503_203441.jpg
