What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Fitted Zaustworx decat pipes to replace rear cats. Something I've been planning to do for the 5yrs I've had the van, a 2005 E51.

Don't sound much different from inside, haven't done enough miles to say if there's any mpg difference.

The pipes are very well made, come with gaskets and nuts/bolts. Pretty straightforward to fit on both pipes.

NB the cats I took off looked immaculate. My van is a camper conversion and we don't use it for short journeys so probably avoid most of the issues with cat degradation/blockage.

Fitted half of my quad exhaust, blocked the off pipe to the drivers side till i can get a hanger fabricated ( thanks @ChrisWills )

Still waiting on my grill coming back from the painter, hopefully Monday.

MOT due Thursday. I had an advisory on a rear reflector last time and in my typical procrastination, I forgot.
Using the guide on here, along with loosening off most of the rear bumper (S1 impul body kit) I removed the rear cluster, hoping to pop open the lense cover, clean and win easily.
Oh no though... Plastic so old and brittle it's impossible to open the clips without breaking them all.
But, I soon realised it was water ingress that was making the reflector dull.
Drilled a small hole and out ran the water.
Reflector almost perfect now so hopefully no problem on Thursday.
The water was getting in due to a crack in the rear cluster so I'll be looking for one soon...

Water ingress is such a pain with these older rear clusters - once it gets in there it just sits and makes everything look cloudy. Drilling the drain hole was a smart move, I've done that myself before and it usually does the trick for the MOT. Shame about the clips being so brittle though.

Second one for sale on forum , depending where u live could be a bargain , or someone makes exhausts on hear aswell , think people change middle section for different note , but i could be wrong , im not a e51 owner

Yep, tail pipe makes little difference, it's all in the centre box.

Decats done, quad exhaust fitted and Elgrand oc sticker fitted.

Nice little note change and slight volume change with the exhaust but not intrusive.

My Father always said the savings are in the anticipation, and he was correct in that.
It heightens the experience too.

Yesterday, I washed it including a good snow foam of the underside and today I did a nice 'little' road trip and picked up a set of undertrays from @AceImports and dropped it to @Winchester for an underside tidy up and underseal. Great to meet you both guys!

When I had the undertrays off for the belt change I noticed a number of fixings were missing so ordered a kit of parts.

I sprayed the front bumper ones

Also started cleaning up the wheels I picked up from a forum member

They were from Amazon - Uolor 100PCS Car Screws and Bolts, Car Clips, Plastic Rivet Fasteners

New Aircon compressor fitted. Seems to work ok but just like it broke when the really hot weather started, now it’s fixed the weather has gone cold.
