What have you done to your Elgrand today?

On with waxoiling the door bottoms, whilst the rear door panel is off I realised I'd never get to the internal release if needed due to rear conversion. Drilled the lever, threaded a bike brake cable through and upto the centre screw trim cover. If fuse goes etc just pop the cover off n pull the cable.

Clever idea!! Nice one 👍🏼

ive got air suspension on my tow car, Range Rover, so I was happy enough with the concept and the ride is on the firm side if anything in that.
As for the Elgrand, it’s got an air bomber system, specifically made for the model in Japan by air runner, a major US AirRide brand. It goes nice and low, but that will depend on several factors... bodykit, wheels, air pressure and any additional lowering brackets, spacers etc...
While I am driving it’s fairly firm at any level, apart from when aired out to low to drive.
Thanks, reassuring to know its fairly firm when driving. I've had a few cars with OEM air suspension and those are fine too but the height change isn't as much as I might expect out of a kit for the Elgrand and certainly they don't go as low which is what I was worrying about.

One last question, was there any alteration/welding needed to accommodate the bags in the rear spring carriers?

Not really relevant to Elgrands, but the best suspension I've driven on is the Citroen Hydractive system which they have sadly now abandoned as an option. When I had an install job at McLaren a while back I was having a nosey at one their workshop manuals and noticed that they use the very same Hydractive system on some of their supercars.

The air bags fit in the rear spring carriers without any fabrication, I have rear lowering brackets, which are bolt on, plus you can still run rear shocks.

I spent Sunday battling with the middle seats.
I resorted to a grinder Vs swivel base.
I cut away the little lip of metal that stops the rotation at 180°. Now my chairs rotate 360° and I can do this 👇

Could you take a close up of the area you ground down I would like to do this to mine _grinder ready!!! 😁

Thanks, I've still got the option of changing the spring carriers to get a bit more camber adjustment so welding would be out of the question if I do that.

I saw your brackets on another post, I don't think I want to go as low, if I can maintain similar 75mm drop as I've got with the coil overs for driving then I'll be happy and once I've got the body kit on it'll be quite a bit lower and although probably not necessary would be good to raise a little to stop panic about bumper damage at campsites too.

Hi @OldPhil , here is a before and after grinding.

After...

It's not difficult. Hardest part of the job was refitting the seats and getting stupid clips in.

Good luck! 👍👍👍

Just got a delivery of this , TAC systems shinee wax . Will report on it when I get to use . Its meant to be really good and give a very good shine. 😎👍

Is it me , or does that shot make it look stretched (limo)
In a way, yes it does make it look stretched! Could do with a bit more space in it to be honest 🤣

I would had done... had to clean daiseys roof as I took her to work and could see how dirty it was up there .. all roofs get dirty .. even flat ones ...
Think it might need more than a wash... clay bar and polish springs to mind. It looks dreadful ☹
