WHAT THE FUCK???!!!!

well i went to the hospital today to pick up a prescription no problem went to the pharmacy gave it in and was told 20 min wait no problem half an hour later, the pharmacist called me to say we do not stock this medicine here and the doctor has not put a dose or amount of days you need to take it wtf she said I need to speak to the doctor as she could not get him on the phone ffs so took it back to reception where I picked it up from to get them to sort it at which point they rang the pharmacy to confirm everything I told them left it in their hands to get sorted aparently I have a kidney infection that needs clearing before I have minor day surgery
We've just had a six week run around with the NHs as well. Youngest had a severe kidney infection at six months, supposed to be under consultant care....they've never checked bloods or kidney function, despite scans showing scarring...
Got them to refer for bloods and got sent the request form as the GP practice nurses said they couldn't do children and we'd need to book in at the walk-in with phlebotomy. Called them, got interrogated "have you been prescribed numbing cream?" Yes, the surgery have sent a prescription, so can we book in?
No.
Why not? We don't do under fives.....he turns fives in two days time....well call back then......so we did...." The blood request form isn't valid, as the GP hasn't ticked the right box for the cream....back to surgery....they didn't tick it, because they didn't send a prescription.....🤬
Consultant rang finally two days ago, the community children's clinic rang this morning, bloods taken this afternoon....but damage already done after years of being fobbed off and not being appropriately monitored.

I share your pain at the levels of incompetence running amok in every publicly funded service.

Surely there's got to be other de-icing solutions/methods except spreading something which rots cars, harms dog paws, harms adjacent plant/tree life and enters the water table.

They are out in force, hard to pick......Van death by slow lingering chassis rot, or fast Van death sliding on the ice into a tree? 🫣
Faster financial death with younger European marques self destructing and super-nova-esque speed social death instead? 🫣

A few years ago I made an LPG flame thrower for melting snow in the yard 😄
Unless one ordered one of the lpg lower stage rocket sized canisters, it'll be back to using a cigarette lighter soon, once the last of the retailers stops selling it.

Thing is though, it's easy to order one of those lower stage rocked sized canisters (by which you mean 47kg propane bottles) and refuel at home using the pumps I make.

By retailers you mean forecourts and it's true that the number of forecourts that sell LPG are getting fewer and fewer in the UK. But companies that deliver gas to your home in bottles are also retailers and they'll still be supplying gas.

There will come a day, granted not all of use will live long enough to see it, when forecourts that sell petrol and diesel disappear too. When that day comes I and others that run on LPG will still be able to run our vehicles on LPG, which will still be widely available in those lower stage rocket sized canisters and a range of other sizes. By 2040 all LPG sold will either be bio or synthetic so there'll be no grounds to say it is environmentally unfriendly. Maybe in future I'll buy an MX5 and convert it to LPG :p , I've already converted MX5's and Mazda Euno's to LPG. Just (as I was writing this) had an LPG converted Mazda 5 collected by its owner.

It no doubt is easy. It no doubt is easy to order and refill.
But whether the public will do that en masse is another story.
It'll most probably be deemed 'hard work', just as walking 20 yards to a TESCO is perceived as 'hard work' compared to parking as close as one can to the shop. Or say driving 0.3 miles to the local shop isn't as 'hard work' as a 'massive' 0.3 mile walk.
