What have you done to your Elgrand today?

the Nissan lightup badges are on e-bay they are the same size as the rear door badge you can get different colours i had a white one to put on the front but too small if you got red you can connect it to your brake lights

I like the sound of that. Tragically I don't think I have the wiring skill to even do that, presumably, simple job. I'd be worried about mucking something up. Presumably would require a hole drilling through the tailgate as well.

Today I fitted interior LEDS to my E52. From AliExpress, the kit has the wrong number of bulbs for me - too many - and the sun visor mirror bulbs are way too big - but I think the standard ones are ok for that purpose. Looks pretty nice now inside wise.

I'd like to do more little bits, I do like more subtle modifications, not sure what's next.

Keep looking for a fancy LED read light cluster after @Richard Fox posted some nice videos of E52s at a tuning show!

You'll probably know this but I'll say it anyway. Payback time is is variable and depends upon

• conversion cost
• price difference between LPG and petrol
• mileage
• drivers driving style
• journey types

When I did my calculations the fuel difference was about 80p a litre and an estimate of 6000 miles a year. I estimated it would take me 2 years which nicely coincided with the conversion warranty if the installer does the first annual service check.

Mine being my daily driver and high milage at that took me 15weeks to pay for the conversion and another 4weeks to pay for the lpg used in that 15 weeks so 19weeks from install and I was actually saving from the initial payment if that makes sense

Not strictly Elgrand but in a fashion as most of you know I'm a long distance truck driver and valentine's is coming up and I wake up and received this message from my loving @Wollie princess
So I was rubbing my hands thinking oh yes
Well turns out what she meant was her car needs a full decontamination and polish and wax not what I was thinking
Part 2 whilst typing this message out I got a video call saying she was going to clean the interior plastic and asked me weather to use plastic shampoo or plastic conditioner to which I just slapped my head and said when you wash your hair which way round do you use them

Realising any kind of van of van based Vehicle is a pipe dream. Even if we had one we couldn't use it for our intended purposes because we have cats who suddenly require twice daily meditation for life as of last summer and we have no one who can administer it for us whilst away for a weekend anyway. I can change out of my wetsuit in the car as it's roomy enough so that's ok. Bit gutted really but that's just how it is

Had 4 new tyres fitted today Autogreen all season van tyres £73 each fitted first impression bloody marvellous for the money

That's a shame mate, you seemed really keen ... but its a lot of cash to spend on something that's not going to get used, look at how many 'newbies' have been selling up recently ... as we have all discussed recently, they aren't the type of vehicle a lot of us can afford to run as a daily, so if you aren't going to be able to use it a a camper/surf/day van it is going to end up sat on the drive and, pretty soon, back in the 'FOR SALE' section ...

My son and his American fiance are visiting Scotland for the weekend, asked me last night if I'll go round and look after the 3 recently imported (from the US) rescue cats.

Exactly, a couple of years ago it wouldn't be an issue but our cat situation means no nights away. Went on holiday for a week in 2020 and my mum stayed with the cats and my youngest daughter stayed with her's (I can't trust my daughter ) but the cat situation has changed and it's very restrictive. Next holiday we have they'll have to go into a cat hotel or we just stay home. We can go out for extended days but not overnight. It's annoying as a rider is not only practical but looks badass too . I certainly don't want to be paying out road tax and insurance on something I can't use as intended.
The easing of travel restrictions also seems to have had no effect on prices either, good for sellers not for buyers (unless you buy a diesel e50).

It's a bit of an addiction , still that's what unemployment limbo does for you.
People think cats are the easy option...oh no. In current circumstances a dog or 2 would be soooo easy. They'd be coming along too, even out on the kayaks
