What leisure battery do you have? My 2002 E51 is converted and needs a new battery.

Wondering what other people are using?

Fogstar lithium for me, half the weight 3 times the price 😂

Is the benefit of these pu

thanks mate. Just bought one from GSF. £103 for 100Ah

Benefits for me were weight, running a compressor fridge fior a week, admittedly I started out wanting 4 days but as it turns out the internet is not always right and it will do a week no problem, more of a discharge window and as we are sleeping in same room as it I didn't want to take the chance with cheap lithium cells, lead battery is much safer in that respect.

I replaced my leisure battery back in January with a Yuasa L31-EFB

Paid £119 for it as it was on offer at the time.

I also bought a Renogy 12V 20A DC to DC Battery Charger with a bluetooth module and a MPPT Solar Controller 20A and these together have been a good upgrade on the previous setup of a Lion DC27MF 90A battery and a VSR and PWM solar Controller,

Me too, Fogstar Drift 105Ah.
Bit too tall to fit in the rear right compartment, but I cut the plastics to make it fit. It’s a bit of a bodge to be honest but works well, has Bluetooth, a heater for charging in below freezing weather, and is good quality.
I have found that it really doesn’t like to be charged in cold weather, below 10’C. Charges from the alternator and electric hookup at about 0.5A.

I don't think I'm ever going to need to charge mine from the van, I have a hookup which will run the fridge from the rear 12v and switch back to the drift when engine is not charging but I don't see us running fridge for more than a long weekend so just going to run it from the drift and see how it goes.

Tayna.co.uk is a good place for batteries - their leisure range includes Yuasa who are a premium OE brand.

Anyone running a freezer or combined fridge freezer?

Or running a 240V fridge / freezer from an invertor? Might be cheaper than buying a 12v model if you'd be having an invertor anyway (even though likely less energy efficient)?

I wondered if you have a freezer that cools down quickly if you could then get away without a fridge, use the freezer to freeze bottles of water to keep a cool box at fridge temp...

Most of the lids are poor, so most lost at top.
Ice blocks are used to keep it efficient and a layer of polystyrene under the top lid helps.
Inverters swallow the battery and good quality one's costs a fortune.
Solar to charge battery/ runs 24/7, don't need to plug in on site, so you get a cheep, safe, break

My fridge has a freeze mode, it's only a draw type fridge so not very big.

Gone a different route - using an Ecoflow Delta 2-1245.
