Last night, travelling home with the family and MIL, we approached J15 on the Manchester Ring Road and got into lane for the Preston/M61 junction.
It's two lanes, Woth a dividing chervon/hatched area, long lead up to the actual turn off, so plenty of time. I was in the outer of the two lanes, bordering the main M60 lanes.
An HGV came crawling past, relative to the main flow speed, in the M60 lane, narrowly clipped the dividing line, marginally ahead by the length of the tractor unit but still on the M60 as we approach the final sign gantry, that is preceded by a thick hatched/chevron area and the went back squarely into the M60 lane.
Halfway along the chevron area, he indicates simultaneously veers hard right across in front, nearly crushing us. I can report a Zafira has surprisingly good brakes, but a crummy horn. Cars in the inner lane braked as well as his turn was so violent, so it wasn't like I had an exit option to avoid braking so heavily.

Called them up today, no answer, but sounds like an older person on the answerphone. Hopefully the driver isn't the same person, because their situational awareness is shocking and taking into account the darkness and that I wasn't in the blind spot (mirrors clearly visible) they're either blind or have a "might is right" attitude.
I doubt they'll get in contact, but give them a wide birth if you're up and down the Preston corridor.
I'm researching dash cams, because last night was the closest I've come to buying the farm in 25 years of driving the M60/61 - if it comes front and rear as part of a better rear view mirror, great.

Keep trying to contact them, and maybe put the info on some review stuff like google reviews. Might come to nothing, but when stuff is put in the public domain, it might force some change/action. Glad your fine, I can imagine that was on heck of a scare.

Sent the company an email this morning with the photos attached.

Good morning
Yesterday a one of your drivers parked illegally and put the lives of our children and parents at risk.
This is not the first time this has happened.
As you can see from the photos attached he parks on the drop kerb that is there for the pedestrian crossing.
Could you please have a word with your driver about this illegal and utterly dangerous parking and get it stopped as a matter of urgency.
For your drivers info the crossing is live from 8am till 9am

See similar at my sons school most mornings.

No crossing lady but the yellow zigzag school lines and a few of the combined speed bump / raised crossing places. Supposedly no parking around this area and every morning most people park way down the road to leave the no parking area clear as it should be... But a few other people seem to think they're 'special' and that other people leave the no parking area clear especially for them so that they can park right outside the school gate or over a crossing area. Some seem to think it's OK if they put their hazard lights on, or it's OK if they arrived too late to park further down the road and still have time to make it into the schoolyard before the bell rings. Some of the same people also get their young kids out of the car on the road side instead of the pavement side.

Is he a 'worker' in the area, or does he live there/nearby? I ask as you mentioned it's not the first time it has occurred.
Very surprising, as chimney/flu 'operatives' and drivers are usually 140+ IQ, borderline mensa people

He is delivering to the gas engineers house over the road.

Reminds me of those how to get rich quick books. Someone pretending to be self made rich says "I'm self made very rich but still I thought I wanted to share how I did it with everyone else because I'm kind like that, and my new rich carefree lifestyle means I had time to write a book about it to help everyone get rich - If you buy this book it'll tell you how to get rich". So people buy the book and find there's only one sentence on one page that makes any sense, it reads "Write a book like this and get lots of suckers to buy it, then you'll be rich" :laughing:

Years ago I fixed a Rangerover for a bloke and found he'd wired a resistor to the MAF sensor. I asked him about it, he said it was supposedly a power up gizmo he'd seen for sale on Ebay, he bought one for around £15 to see if it'd work but it had no effect. Still, he said, he bought 50 of the same resistors himself for less than £1 each and made a similar advert but undercutting the original sellers price by selling them for £10 instead of £15... and he sold most of the 50! I said I don't know how you can sleep at night, he just laughed and shrugged his shoulders :laughing:
