What have you done to your Elgrand today?

Went out to the Elgrand to check if my ELM BT device would work with Car Scanner,

I come back in and Steve and Albert are snogging each other playing a sort of virtual Spin the Bottle game, I just don't want to know what's in the PM's and to be honest I am no prude.....

Oh and it did work.

You may need to get out more Geeze

Waiting at Folkestone central for train home. After a joyous drive I have to leave her behind 😭

Thought I'd get this topic underway :)

It's quite popular on many car forums and is a nice way of highlighting something new you've done with your Elgrand be it a modification, a repair, general maintenance or just took her out for a great drive :)

Just add to the thread as and when.

Who will start us off? :)
Just bought one 🤪

So over this week I've done oil change and managed to sound proof the rear floor and the tailgate. All in all it's been successful. The sound proofing has helped my ears and head from popping with the Exhaust drone on the motorway. 😂 However the tailgate is a lot heavier now with the sound proofing the struts don't go all the way up by itself when you open it so now there is an increased chance of knocking myself out. 🤣 Lovin the quad Exhausts now at all speeds. Average speed has increased, not sure if mpg has but it's worth it.

Oil change complete with K&N oil filter now. No more faffing trying to get a normal filter off. 👍

Soundproofing of the rear to save premature tinnitus and deafness. 😂

Hello.... I'm new <takes wrapping off>

Ta daaa!! <waves>

'What have you done to your Elgrand today?'

Looked at it, looked at the rust, took it to a friend of a friend - he said 'no'

Looked at the rust again, wished I had the tools, the space, the time

etc

Maybe replace the struts for longer stronger ones from SGS engineering?

Would you know which ones as looked on site and looks like E52 unless that works for E51 too. Cheers.

I went for these ones at 850nm, how heavy is the deadening as you can/could get a higher NM one, you will have arms like Popeye after a week of shutting the lids though.......

Can't remember if the Ball Socket are in pairs or singles, if singles then you'll need 4.

Cheers for that. Are these the struts that lift the tailgate higher too? Reckon it's added about 1.5kg. not sure. Will have to work it out with the amount of sheets I used. Might have to be my next mod when got the time. 😂
