Has anyone on here had Vine Place fit an Android auto/Carplay unit in their E51?

when i bought mine from vine place 3 years ago it was just a thing plugged into the cig lighter that connects to the radio, you tune the radio to the frequency so it can play from your phone. it also has a usb charging socket on it.

Mine was fitted with a cig port bluetooth adapter like Russ, from VinePlce - simply tune it in to an empty station and then play through your phone.

Also a HUD kmh to mph converter was fitted.....both inexpensive but have worked fine.

I bought mine during covid so it took a bit longer to prep, Dave gave me updates as to where the van was and what was being done to it.

If it is a ser3 I would expect a Lsailt unit for that price. I will likely fit one of these later this year.

You will not be able to see anything as it keeps all the standard equipment and functionality but is able to switch to AA or CP with a button press.

Also this car had a Japanese pioneer aftermarket double din fitted already but is Bose originally, I'm definitely intrigued now

Oh. Not a series 3 then. Easy to fit an AA/CP android unit in that case.

Mine had one as well, maybe it’s a VinePlace thing.

I'm not impressed with the unit whatsoever, it's too slow to do anything useful (only 1gb of ram) but Bluetooth works well and all seems to function with the Bose system too (sub etc) there's no sound from the aux inputs at the back though. Car is going back next week to get some niggles sorted out - can't fault their service at all but will update after we get it back next weekend.

Just ask them if you can upgrade it to something better, it's still new and they can fit it into another one
