Elgrand with awning

Nice one and it looks as though you picked a weekend that was dry.

What's the mystery bit then? I'm guessing the pop-top is something other than a Drivelodge unit and the 'tent' looks to be placed more to the passenger side than the other - an interesting permutation - what might the advantage of this be do you think?

Anyway, happy camping and all that ;).

My HWS camper had one of those, it's a wind deflector to push air over the pop top lid when its closed.
he he, I know that (I have a Drivelodge poptop myself) - I was referring to the black bit on the wind deflector.

Think it's the light hitting it at a different angle, or different paint, as the black ( green, purple )stuff is quite expensive

That's my add on, if we're posting picks of awnings, can't afford a pop top, if I could I would get a bigger van, just being truthful.
Yes I know it costs a lot on fuel but that's weekly or monthly depending on how often you go out

As already stated, it`s a wind deflector/spoiler to throw the air over the poptop. Looking to get an awning myself but thinking of ythe kind you pump up, rather than wrestle with poles etc.........

The pole ones are cheaper, take a bit longer to put up, but comes down just as quick, but fit in the bag easily.
The blow up ones, go up quickly, are a bit stronger in the wind, so you can miss a lot of pegging, but are a bugger to get the air out so they can fit in the bag.
Just trying to help buddy, just giving some info.
What you go for is your choice.

Nice, I have an awning and second battery ready to go but haven't had time for a trip yet lol

Model for model the poled version is lighter and more compact when packed away - or at least is was for the model I looked at, and of course the air version needs a pump too.

Never having owned an air framed tent/awning myself, if I were to consider one I think I'd worry about the problem of an air leak, or is that a very rare occurence? As a cyclist at times I find it enough of a challenge to find slow punctures on a 700c wheel, the thought of hunting out a leak on an awning would keep me awake at night .

The air framed ones are erected more quickly though, or at least the ones I've observed have been.

We've been using a Vango Faros II poled awning for 3 years. Delighted with it.
