After a year of cleaning every nut and bolt which was removed, polished and new timing chains fitted with god knows how many new seals etc I then discovered it still knocking from the bottom end! I pretty certain its spun a bearing shell as its sounds like con rod knock! :(

I take it that the engine was oil tight still?

Around 89,000km when I bought it in 2016 and when the engine went it only had around 116,000km I think!
