Hi guys, just wanna give a shout out for simon andrew of lpg conversions. Travelled up to doncaster a few weeks ago from west mids for an lpg conversion on the Elgrand after only owning it for 2 weeks. It was a 1st class job with a factory finish and a lot easier on the pocket driving around at 70pence a litre with no loss of performance that i can see.

Always top work , and its still worth using lpg in your location , alot harder finding in other areas , enjoy your bus
 
Most people can have LPG supplied in a red bottle. My nearest forecourt that sells LPG is 7 miles away just this side of Doncaster, it is a Morrisons and charges £1.09 per litre. Instead of using the Morrisons, or one of the other Morrisons or the BP garage which are all a similar distance away and similar price (the BP is slightly cheaper) I have a red bottle delivered to home because it works out at 85p per litre and because I can refil at home from the red bottle using a pump (so I don't have to drive the 7 miles to Morrisons)... That's a no brainer for me but I understand some people wouldn't be able to have a red bottle at home or wouldn't want to mess about with a bottle and pump.

I had today off work to take my boat on the river through York, wasn't particulalry bothered about going but I wanted to flush the saltwater out of the boat engine cooling system. On return from boating I stopped at the local Shell station in South Elmsall and brimmed the boat petrol tank with E10, which cost £1.69 per litre. If I used the boat more often I would for sure convert it to run on LPG instead of petrol. Even if I had to pay £1.09 per litre for LPG for the Elgrand it would still be a no brainer compared to paying £1.69 for E10, or £1.87 for the higher octane E5 that many on this forum recommend Elgrand engines should run on. LPG has higher octane than E5.
 
Is there much to do in south elmsall? It'll take a while to claw the cost back but if using as a daily I'm considering it.

To me it's an average small market town and there isn't usually a lot to do in a small market town. But there is plenty countryside all around with parks etc, it does have good transport links having 2 railway stations and a large bus station, easy to get to Leeds, Wakefield, Doncaster, Barnsley, etc.

not a lot😆, i went down there on the sunday afternoon, dropped the bags off at the travelodge and walked into south elmshall. Had a beer at the boozer and got a taxi back.it was well over an hour walk😆. Dropped the van off mon morn with simon and had a short walk to train station an caught train to doncastor. Doncastor is a decent place, especially in the irish bar, i can reccommend the irish stew😝.picked van up wed morn all prepped an ready to go.
 
So get pissed and eat stew. Best get a porta potty for the drive back to Southampton then eh
 
Had ours converted by Simon 3 years ago and stopped at the Travelodge whilst the work was being done. Top install and has been running great since. We made our money back in about 2 years but only use the van intermittently. We're lucky to live within a few miles of two suppliers at 86.9p so made sense for us.

That reminds me, I need to get back up to Simon for the 3 year filter service.
 
£1.10, 5 miles away or I think it was around £0.88 via 46kg bottle but it will eventually be my only vehicle

My local LPG outlet has just increased its price from £1.09 to £1.29. 12 miles away are three outlets - 80p/82p/£1.09 so I guess I'm going to start running the tank low and making some long round trips.

There's another garage not too far away which has been £1.58 for at least the past 2 years which is just silly.

My main memory of Doncaster was a girl in a night club who was a really good dancer but always on her own and expertly smoked a cigarette at the same time. Pure class.
