The Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) is an annual event for Japanese Car Enthusiasts held at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.
The event pulls together thousands of people from hundreds of clubs from all over Europe to share in their love all things JDM. This event is not JUST for enthusiasts, the whole weekend is basically a huge community of people getting together to socialise, have a drink, a laugh, make friends and enjoy a long weekend with like minded people.
Children are welcome and entertainment is provided (albeit a little lax in 2017, but we will provide our own in-club entertainment for the mini-me's). Dogs are welcome but MUST be kept on a lead. There is also a firework display on Saturday night, so bear this in mind if you are planning to bring dogs.
This event has been a massive success for EOC over the last 3 years. In 2015 we had 12 attend, in 2016 we had 24 attend and in 2017 we had 44 attend! The 2017 ElgrandOC club stand was the single largest gathering of Elgrand's outside of Japan/Hong Kong. It was a fantastic weekend where everyone got involved and came away with some great memories and new friends.
We, as a club, also learned a lot from 2017's event, and organisation of the event for 2018 will be much better and will cater much better to everyone's needs. We will hopefully be returning with our DJ's @LLGrandJ and @Andrew Hughes. We have communal BBQ's, beer pool, and entertainment for all ages.
Please remember that JAE is primarily a car show. With that in mind, the plot will be layed out like a display stand. We have struggled in previous years with how the plot has been arranged, and it has looked more like a camp site than a car show stand. So organisation will play a critical role in this and you will be expected to have your car on display. This does NOT mean your car needs to be a "show car". It can be rough, beaten, scratched, rusty, bent and falling apart. But it should be clean and take a proud spot on the stand.
The club stand will be loud, with music playing until very late/early. With this in mind, families will be able to make use of the QUIET CAMPING area which is set away from the main club stands. Any caravans, LARGE family tents/awnings will be pitched in this area as well. Small tents/awnings will be allowed on the club plot.
Ticket Prices for 2018 have not been announced yet, but I imagine they will remain the same @ £45 for a single adult ticket and £90 for a Family Ticket (2 adults and 3 children up to 16 years). Under 12's are free. If the ticket prices change, I will update this thread as soon as the information is available.
In addition to the ticket fee, there is an additional club fee of £5 to cover the cost of the plot and £10 to cover the cost of the electric hookup. The plot and electric hookup fee are paid PER VEHICLE and are not relevant to the number of tickets you require.
So, if you are bringing 2 adults and 2 children in 1 car, it would be £90 for tickets, plus the £15 club fee = £105.
3 adults in 2 cars would be £135 for tickets plus £30 club fee = £165.
