-Here you can find answers to all of the most frequently asked questions right through to links to step action guides for DIY repairs.

-===== About the Club =====
-
-ElgrandOC was set up in 2014 in an attempt to help bring the global Elgrand community together. At the time various online resources were available, but were not easy to access or were hidden behind a paywall. ElgrandOC was set up to be completely free and open to everyone. The main focus of the club is the ElgrandOC Forum however we also have a Facebook group for those who aren't familiar with using forums. The Facebook group was intended to be more for the social side of the club, but has been extended to include help for more technical related queries.
-
-We are a very active, social group who always welcome new members. We don't believe in "cliques" and try to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. We attend a lot of national and regional shows regularly throughout the year. All events and meets are generally organised via the forum.
-
-If you'd like to get involved with the club, feel free to do so either via the forum linked above, or the Facebook group.

-===== About the Nissan Elgrand =====
-
-The Nissan Elgrand is a Japanese Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). Released by Nissan in 1997 as the successor to the Nissan Homy/Caravan. The Elgrand was exclusive to the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) but has since become a popular export to many parts of the world.
-
-There are currently three generations of the Elgrand; E50, E51 and E52.
-
-The Elgrand was designed with luxury in mind. Large internal capacity, high specifications (including even the most basic models), comfortable seating for up to 8 people (including the driver) and powerful engines help to envelop passengers in a VIP style experience.

-
-The Nissan Elgrand E50 was released in 1997 as the successor to the Nissan Caravn/Homy.
-Initially released as a 7 or 8 seat vehicle in a variety of trim levels with a wide range of optional extras.
-
-There were a number of optional trim levels, each with a varying basic spec list; V, VG, X, XL, Highway Star, Autech Rider, S Edition.
-The Autech Rider was actually a V spec E50 that was then taken to Autech for refinement. They added new bumpers, side skirts, exhaust, alloy wheels and suspension. The spec list was then customised by the buyer, which often included most of the optional extras, giving the illusion that the Rider itself was the highest specced. However, the X/XL and S Edition were the three top spec models.
-
-The Highway Star, Rider and S Edition were the only variants that added a body kit to the base vehicle.
-The S Edition E50 was the last line of the generation before Nissan moved to the E51. This model included additional features such as auto tilt wing mirrors to help with reversing.
-
-Basic spec list for all E50's included electric front windows, soft close doors, customisable seating arrangements (rotating middle row, fold up rear seats, lie flat etc), dual (front/rear) climate control.
-Some optional extras included dual sunroof (manual front, electric rear), navigation system with pop up front screen and drop down rear screen and electric side sliding door.
-
-
-In 1999 Nissan released a facelift version of the E50. Most of the changes were aesthetic, but there were also some minor changes to some of the electrics (plug types, bulb types etc) for the front headlights.
-
-The headlights changed from a split 3 piece unit (Main/sidelight, Fog light, indicator) to a single piece unit incorporating all lighting elements. The front grill and bumper were changed along with the rear bumper. On the Highway Star and Rider models, the additional body kit parts were also refreshed for the new look.
-The S Edition is only available as a facelift model.
-
-Four engine variants were available to the E50. Initially, for the pre-facelift models, there was a choice between the VG33 3.3l V6 petrol or the QD32 3.2l Turbo Diesel.
-Late in the pre-facelift lifespan, a third engine option was made available, the ZD30 3.0l Neo Turbo Diesel engine which added more power from a slightly smaller engine, and better fuel efficiency. However this engine is regarded as the lease reliable of the four available due to issues with the fuel pump and overboosting of the turbo.
-The ZD30 was then also made available to the facelift generation of the E50, the only engine spanning both revisions of this model. Nissan also released the facelift E50 with the VQ35 3.5l V6 engine. This engine was one of Nissan's flagship engines, but was de-tuned and ran a lower compression ratio when compared to it's sportier relatives (350Z, Skyline GT etc). Although the VQ35 block is the same across all ranges, the set up and ancillaries for each vehicle is different, and the performance/tuning cannot be compared to the variant found in the Elgrand.
