+You will find the chassis number of your Elgrand either in you Log Book or etched into the bulk head of your E50. Open the bonnet, and look towards the back of the engine above the battery/fuse box.
+The first 2 letters signify the engine variant:
+    AL = VG33 3.3l V6 Petrol
+    AV = QD32 3.2l I4 Turbo Diesel
+    AT = ZD30 3.0l I4 Neo Turbo Diesel
+    AP = VQ35 3.5l V6 Petrol
+If the chassis code then contains a "W" then you have a 4WD model. You should have the drive selector on the dash to allow RWD/AWD/Auto mode. If you do not have the "W" then you have the RWD model (rear wheel drive).
+The last two characters of the first part of the chassis code are E50, signifying you have an E50 model Elgrand.
+For example APWE50 is a VQ35 4WD model E50.
+The last 6 digits (after a hyphen) is the sequential number of your model as it rolled out the factory.
+The complete chassis number is the unique identifier for your car. If you need to contact Nissan directly, or some motor factors when looking for parts, will require this number to ensure you get the correct parts/advice.
