Right then guys and gals... 2015 is closing in fast, and as promised, I am going to be expressing some interest in the shows next year. It doesn't look like we'll raise the funds in time to get the bits that I want, so we are going to have to make it up in numbers.

The shows are going to be our way of reaching out and showing the world what we're about, to show off our Elgrand's in the right way.

I don't think we'll hit it too hard, I'm thinking a couple of shows, maybe three tops. So, who's with me? I'll look pretty pathetic hitting the scene on my tod, so could do with some EOC presence! The big one is JAE.

What is a JAE?

JAE is NOT a meet. It's a full on weekend camping trips. It's about cars, beer, barbecue's and generally having a laugh. These shows are big, there is plenty to do for all the family.
There are a lot of club stands so you can go and check out some serious pieces of machinery that owners have poured their every penny into.
There are sellers, usually a lot of them, and they all offer good rates at the shows as it builds up their custom. This might not be the best place to pick up bit's specifically for an Elgrand, but it's a great way to let them know we exist, and find out what it will take to get us put firmly on the map.

What can I do?

Come along! Ticket prices take into account a full weekend of camping and facilities. But they also act as your tickets to the main attraction. Tickets will be arranged through the forum, so all you have to do is get your name on the list here, send the money to me and let me worry about the rest.

But I have a family!

Great! Bring them along! A lot of enthusiasts that stick it out a shows are usually adults with families of their own. Kids are always welcome, and the more of them there are in attendance, the more friends they get to make. Plus, there are usually activities there for kids to take part in, like fairs etc, so make sure you bring a few extra pennies to stop them paddying too much :cry2:

Why should I go?

If you even have to ask that question, then don't go. It's as simple as that. The shows are a great way to socialise and really get to know your fellow enthusiasts. You get a chance to look at some very shiny cars and have people looking at yours (is that not what every enthusiast wants?). And I'm pretty sure, a big stand full of Elgrand's will draw attention... look at how much they draw by themselves or in a small convoy. Imagine what that would be like with 20+ Elgrands all buffed up to the nines on proud display?

When is it?

JAE is usually held in September time, but next year they are moving to a new location, so that might have an impact on the timing of the show. We'll just have to wait and see.

How much will it cost?

JAE is usually a little more expensive to attend because of the weekend camping, but the other single day shows are generally around the £15-£20 mark for day passes.

Based on the costs for last year:
£35-£40 per person arriving Thursday leaving Sunday
£30-£35 per person arriving Friday leaving Sunday
£15-£20 per person Saturday DAY PASS
£10-£15 per person Sunday DAY PASS
There will be a couple of quid thrown on top to help support the club to buy the bits we need. We'll have a pretty basic set up for our first few shows, but we will get there with your help.

Who's up for it?

So, who's up for it? If we can get anywhere near as much interest as we have with the Christmas meet, I'll be over the moon. Obviously we have a long way to go before show season starts, so there will be a lot of planning and updates relating to JAE and other show's we'll be attending. But I want to get the word out now for you all so you can consider what is to come.

Re: 2015 JAE

Me too if nothing will change.

Re: 2015 JAE

Hi Karl, you said this...it doesn't look like we'll raise the funds in time to get the bits that I want, so we are going to have to make it up in numbers.
What bits do you want?? maybe we can help either financially or we might have the bits you are after, I remember you saying you wanted a gazebo ages ago, well I have a double size gazebo with 4 sides, it's huge, so if that's what you need I've got it....tell us what you want, what you really really want!!!!!
:yahoo: :friends:

Re: 2015 JAE

I want 2 Gazebos with custom covers with logo and design work on. They also need to big enough to park a few Elgrand's in.
These are expensive (£450 each minimum), will need 2 or 3. Plus banners, tables, chairs, general camping equipment.

So yes, any help for bits and bobs for the 2015 shows will be a huge help, as it will create a living area for all those in attendance.

Re: 2015 JAE

Don't forget I've got a large gazebo I can lay my hands on too, so there's your two gazebos:)

Re: 2015 JAE

This is all excellent stuff, and means we'll at least have a set up to use come show time. But we still definitely need club branded gear to give us a stand out set up :D

Re: 2015 JAE

a couple of banners should'nt cost too much to print up, ask Gobby!!!

Already have. That is the minimum club branded equipment we will have. Hoping to have more, but we'll see

Re: 2015 JAE

Depending on When, Where and if we can get respite care for my dad who suffers with dementure and lives with us, we will be there. I presume a caravan and awning come under the headding of camping? and are 2 Border Collies allowed? (My Boys).

Re: 2015 JAE

I don't know about caravans, but I don't see why not. I've never actually been myself, but was meant to go this year and last year. Just didn't get chance. I'll look into it for you mate, but I'm sure dogs are allowed :)
